Overview
The total program length is 36 credits. Students typically complete the program over the course of two years.
Objectives
- Demonstrate mastery of disciplinary knowledge by describing, interpreting, and evaluating major pieces of literature within their historical and cultural contexts;
- Demonstrate mastery of the English language and writing, its evolution and development in a historical and cultural context, theories about emerging forms of writing and expression, and its contemporary practices, including as applicable, pedagogy;
- Demonstrate mastery of critical theories and practices in the discipline;
- Conduct research employing techniques, methodologies, and skills applicable to the discipline and produce work product that synthesizes research;
- Demonstrate knowledge of ethical practices, diversity, and the importance of lifelong learning in the discipline.
Admissions Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized college or university
- GPA of 2.7 or higher
- Official transcripts from all previously attended schools
- Completed application with Carolina University
